Project Manager

Dina is part of the team behind the new Danish portal borger.dk. She is responsible for shaping the concept of "My Page" which is the main new service on borger.dk. "My Page" will be launched in April 2008.

The purpose of "My Page" is to provide the citizen with a clear view of his or her relations and transactions with the public sector: The goal being that "My Page" in 2012 will consist of all relevant digital solutions from the different public sectors such as the municipalities, the regions, and the governmental authorities.

Dina has a background as environmental planner from Roskilde University, but has the recent five years been working as Project Manager (IPMA) on digital projects in the public sector, mainly in the Danish tax administration. The first of these projects being LetLøn (EasyPay) and then moving on to the political as well as the financial foundation for the ongoing modernization of the Danish tax systems.

Walk the line - to balance between usability and policy-making when building a portal for the Danish citizen

Thursday, November 9th, 14.30

Category: Beginner

Track: Project Management

Case: Danish Digital Task Force (Project Citizen Portal)

An extensive work on the citizen's needs and preferences when talking public digital services was concluded in June 2006. The findings were clear: Seven out of ten Danes want to use digital services when dealing with the public sector. And they want simple and easy solutions as well as a single entrance to the public services.

The Danish government has decided that all relevant communication between the citizen and the public sector has to be digital in 2012. And in this perspective the launch of "My Page" in 2008 will be a central "stepping stone" in reaching this goal.

The main challenges for the development of "My Page" is to find common ground between the optimal digital solution for the Danish citizen and the digital services that are already available today at the different homepages of the municipalities and at regional and governmental level. So this presentation will - from a project management perspective - focus on the policy-making process and usability and how these two factors will interact in the development of "My Page".
