An Intranet Maturity Framework & the Web 2.0 Influence
Wednesday, November 8th, 16.00
Category: Intermediate
Track: Intranet
Many companies struggle with collaboration, but it has little to do with how well or how badly designed their intranets are; it depends on what collaboration features exist.
Successful intranet solutions are those that are focused on the end users. Intranets can incorporate collaboration tools and social media so that employees have a single interface through which they can communicate. Incorporating such media as wikis, blogs, and podcasts into an intranet will foster collaboration and information sharing within the enterprise workplace.
Social media connects people to content as well as people-to-people via content, spreading knowledge and ideas. But dealing with structured and unstructured content can pose unique challenges to an organisation.
Walking conference attendees through the proprietary Intranet Maturity Framework, Shiv will show us which business benefits make intranets grow, where social media solutions fit, and how user experience and technology can play a key role. He will discuss how the intranet maturity framework is relevant for European organisations.
The presenter will also highlight the challenges and opportunities in designing and building a social media solution for his own organisation.
