Head of New Media

 

Thomas is the Head of New Media at Urban. This includes the primary website (urban.dk), the first newspaper blogsite in Denmark (urbanblog.dk), which in only three months has gathered more than 600 active bloggers. He also manages several other projects for Urban including a film, video, books and music shop and also different mobile services. Urban is a free newspaper, and is in growing competition with other paid and free newspapers.

 

Thomas has been in the new media industry since 1993, working as a consultant for Andersen Consulting, Ministry of Education and e-business manager in Post Denmark.

 

He holds a MBA from the Copenhagen Business School, and a Master of Art from Aarhus University.

Since Nyhedsavisen launched their entrance to the Danish newspaper market, the whole newspaper industry has gone crazy. Blogs, Citizen Journalism, wiki's etc - these are all new words for the printed media.

 

  • What can the readers/users expect from the medias in the future?
  • What can they offer the established media?
  • What does this means for the journalists, for the publishers and the newspaper as a media?

 

Thomas will provide his answer to these and other questions...
